FASHION FAVOURITES OF 2018

Last year I wrote my first ‘fashion favourites of a year’ post, and I thought it would be super fun to write one again this year. It’s been quite the year style-wise, as I had already discussed in my 2018 in outfits post. I felt a bit lost with my style in 2018, which led to me gravitating towards mostly basics inside of my wardrobe throughout the year. It comes as no surprise that these items turned out to be my fashion favourites of 2018.

Pull & Bear camel coat

One of the most loved items inside of my wardrobe is my good old camel coat. Camel coats are such a staple inside everyone’s wardrobe, and I always tell anyone this. I love camel coats because they are such classic and timeless pieces. They always make me feel and look as if I have my stuff together. As much as I love my camel coat I don’t think I have ever given it a proper shout out on the blog before. It’s one of those coats I sometimes forget about when I am off into town to shoot photos because I usually gravitate towards my black coats. However I do tend to wear this coat quite often if I am off to university or if I have to study at the library. This usually means I am dressed quite casually underneath but also want to look a bit put together.

H&M black blazer

Another staple inside my wardrobe this year, which has definitely has been included lots into outfit posts on my blog in 2018, is this gorgeous black blazer with gold buttons. Once again this is one of those super classy and classic items that I feel like everyone should own in their wardrobe as they instantly put an outfit together. This blazer has been such a staple in my wardrobe from spring until the end of autumn. It’s only because it’s really cold now that I have not worn it in winter yet, but I am super excited for the weather to get warmer again so I can wear this just on its own.

Basic black t-shirt

It’s no secret that I love my basics, but in 2018 especially, I have really gravitated towards using a lot of basic black t-shirts. Because I had been and still am quite lost when it comes to finding clothes I like, I just decided to go back to basics altogether. It’s not very practical to wear them now, as it’s quite cold, but I still wear most of my basic black tees underneath all of my jumpers now to keep myself warm when I’m off outside.

Stradivarius leopard print bag

This bag probably is one of the only ‘outstanding’ pieces in my wardrobe as of right now and the only thing that isn’t a ‘basic’ essential. Animal print has been such a big deal in 2018 fashion, so it comes as no surprise that I also jumped onto that bandwagon and found myself something leopard print that I absolutely love. This bag has been used and loved so much and you guys seem to love it too, because whenever I post a pic of it on my Instagram you always ask me where it’s from.

H&M striped trousers

Every now and again I felt like I needed to spice up my outfits a bit, which is why I bought myself a pair of striped trousers. Striped trousers always seem like such a good idea. I love wearing striped trousers because they can be such a versatile piece inside of your wardrobe, but still also make your outfit look more interesting. So after I got myself this pair of trousers I found myself wearing them lots to my internship as well as just when I wanted to hop into town very quickly.

Adidas Yung 96-J trainers

Finally I had to mention a pair of trainers into my fashion favourites too as I am such a trainer kinda gal. Dad trainers were also a big fashion staple in 2018. They were the most controversial item ever; some people love them, some people hate them. At first I hated them too, but slowly I turned around and fell in love with them. In September I found the most gorgeous pair of trainers that were just the right amount of ugly yet pretty. Whenever I wear these Adidas Yung 96-J trainers, I almost feel a bit Scandinavian when I wear these because I saw so many girls in Sweden wear these sorts of trainers while I was there.
