THOUGHTS OF AN OVERTHINKER

It feels as if my brain is always in overdrive. So many people I talk to have this feeling as if their head is constantly going into overdrive. I personally know that I am an overthinker and I am pretty sure it is related to my anxiety and have insomnia to thank for it. Over the past month I have written down when I started overthinking, and I thought it would be fun to write a post about it. This might be thoughts you would relate to yourself, or you may not.

HOW I STAY ON TOP OF LIFE AND UNI

I would like to think that I am actually quite an organised person in life. I always have a set schedule of when I have to do things in life. Somewhere along the month of March I kind of lost my swing and with that I also lost track of my schedule. I am paying the price now, because I have two major deadlines coming up tomorrow evening and I have been stressed out since Friday morning.

Whenever I start feeling overwhelmed by how much I have to get done, I go back to this little list I always set myself. This list remembers me how I stay on top of my life, combining blogging and university together. Instead of just going through this little list of things myself, I thought it would be fun to share them with you too, as they might be helpful to you too.

THE EFFECT OF POSITIVE THINKING

This year I have been really focussing on my mental health and just talking about mental health on the blog. I am a big struggler with my mental health but decided I don’t want to let it affect me as much anymore. Now that I am 21 years old, I feel like I want to live life to the fullest with all the people I adore. I want to be happy and appreciate every small thing in life. This is a huge turnaround for me in my life as I used to always be quite pessimistic and negative.

Now that I am focussing more on positive thinking and being happy and appreciative of small things in my day-to-day life, I have noticed a few changes in my life, behaviour and just how I approach things. And I'm dying to share!

36 HOURS IN BRUSSELS

The last time I was in Brussels I was just about 11. I went with my aunt and my cousins on a little girl trip but can't remember much else about the trip. Going back to Brussels to experience it as a grown up has been something I had been dying to do. So when my friend treated me to a little birthday trip to Brussels, I was jumping at the opportunity to shoot lots of new blog content there. Brussels was such a gorgeous city that I had to share on the blog. This only proves that as a Dutchie you don't have to travel that far to discover a brand new, beautiful city. We travelled there by train and it only took us three hours!

In today's post I'll talk you through all the things my friend and I did while we were there, as well as sharing some of my favourite little coffee, brunch and lunch spots with you.

NEW PRE SPRING ITEMS

Lately I have been going through the biggest style rut. As much as I had been wanting to buy and wear shirts, the weather basically stopped me from doing so. It has been insanely cold over the past few weeks. When I finally had come to realize that I was just going to wear shirts even though it's cold, I came to the conclusion that I barely had any shirts left as I had a massive clear out in my wardrobe at the beginning of winter. Therefore I decided to get myself a few new shirts and tops, that I wanted to share with you.

THINGS I LOOK FORWARD TO THIS SPRING

Every year I look forward to spring again. As much as I love winter and dressing for winter, during the end of February I am just longing for spring and summer. Spring is really waiting to show its face this year and it has made me appreciate everything about Spring so much more. There's just so many things that I look forward to this spring that I am dying to share with you. The outfit I'm wearing however, couldn't be any less spring-esque. But we're keeping it real on the blog, because that's basically my reflection on how I want it to be spring, but spring just cannot be found anywhere, anytime soon. Which leads to me wearing jumpers because still don't have double digit weather..

TRANSITIONING WINTER TO SPRING LOOK

Last week was weird. We had some extremely cold weather and we even had snow in the beginning of March. To me that’s pretty insane, and I am pretty sure that I have never seen snow during March. It’s been weird to think about spring with last week’s cold weather, but I am slowly but surely transitioning my daily outfits from winter to spring, and this outfit is one of my go-to outfits for this type of weather. It consists of a few standard items in my wardrobe that are definitely worth mentioning.

SHRIMP AND BEAN SPROUTS SALAD RECIPE

Since the beginning of March I have been trying to eat a lot more healthy. February was a month filled with birthday cake and lots of other treats. During the month it was starting to affect my health and my mood. I started to get a bit more of a breakout and was constantly tired. Therefore I decided to cut back on the sugars in March, as well as adapt a bit more of a healthier lifestyle. Ever since last week, I have incorporated some more veg into my day to day life and so far am really enjoying eating healthy again. For lunch I am mainly eating salads nowadays, and this has been one of my go to salads to eat. It's super easy, tasty and filling, which is always something I look for in a salad!

GOALS I SET MYSELF THIS MONTH

Hi! I literally came back from Brussels last week and I am so excited to share all of the photos that my friend and I took on the blog with you. All of these photos that we shot got me so excited for March. I have so many great ideas and things planned for March. March is only just beginning and I want to make March such a productive and happy month. Halfway throughout February I caught the flu and somehow lost all of my productiveness and willpower to be active. To get myself back into the swing of things, I have set myself a few goals I want to focus on during the month of March.

Like I said before, there are quite a few exciting things happening in March. It felt necessary to set these goals to keep myself organized and to prevent my head from overflowing. I am definitely going to share all of these exciting activities in some sort of a Sunday post on the blog at the end of the month. I am going to enjoy this month to its fullest while keeping track of the goals I am mentioning below.

FIVE FAVOURITES OF FEBRUARY

How is it March already? February went by so quickly, it's unbelievable. Time is literally flying by so quickly. I am truly hoping that we will be getting warmer, spring-like weather, because I am in need of some warmth and a bit of vitamine D. Anyway, putting this month's five favourite together was quite hard. I spend most of my time either inside without in my comfy outfit without any makeup on and I ended up catching the flu right in the middle of the month. Thankfully I am finally a bit more organized in life and wrote down what items I have been liking, so this post wasn't so hard to write anymore. Without further or do, here are my five favourites of February.
