BEAUTY DISCOVERIES OF 2018

This past week has really been all about reflection for me personally. Now that I have handed in all of my assignments for university, I feel like I finally have a bit more time on my hands to really look back on 2018 and sit down to write about a couple of beauty, or mostly skincare products that really stood out to me in 2018 and helped clearing up my skin.

In the beginning of 2018 my skin was having quite a rough time. I remember really struggling with it quite a lot. This actually led to me completely changing up my routine, which I am now super happy with and really help control my acne.

Kiehl's Glow Formula Skin Hydrator*

One of the first things I want to mention that I have discovered in 2018 is the Kiehl's Glow Formula Skin Hydrator*. This product was very kindly gifted to me by the lovely ladies from Kiehl's. I love using this product, because, even though I have very oily skin, my skin can also look quite dull. This Skin Hydrator is great because it instantly gives me a glow and makes me look healthy. I tend to reach for this product mostly when I have not had enough sleep or just don't feel properly awake yet, as I know this will make me look healthy, even when I don't feel like it myself.

Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid

Next up I had to mention the Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid. I know I already talked about this product in my favourites post of December earlier this week, and this product has also been mentioned quite often in other posts. This product was recommended to me by one of my friends back when I was still in high school. I never got around to trying it then, but decided to give it a go in 2018. I love using this every other evening or twice a week because I really notice that it helps with clearing up lots of the really painful cystic acne.

Paula's Choice Clear Pore Normalising Cleanser

In 2018 I really discovered the brand Paula's Choice. My biggest thing with skincare is to prevent myself from getting any other horrible breakouts. The next Paula's Choice product I want to mention is the Paula's Choice Clear Pore Normalising Cleanser. I love using this one because I can really feel my skin being cleansed, without feeling like this cleanser has stripped my skin off all of my natural oils. Besides that my skin can also be quite sensitive, and even though this cleanser helps to clean your pores, it doesn't irritate my skin. This is so important to me, because if there's one thing I hate in life, it's to have flakey and bumpy irritated skin.

Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Lotion

Besides loving the Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid, I also love using the Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Lotion. I personally love using this product because it has really helped clearing up some of the redness of my acne scars as well as prevent me from breaking out. Where I use the BHA Liquid only every other day or twice a week, I tend to use the 2% BHA Lotion twice a day every day. I find that this product isn't too harsh for every day use, which is perfect, as it really helps to clear up scars and prevents my acne breakouts.

Rituals The Ritual of Karma Face SPF

As soon as I started using salicylic acid I knew I had to up me face SPF game. One of my best friends told me she really liked using the Rituals SPF range in general, but hadn't tried the face SPF yet. On a random and rainy Saturday my mum went to restock her Rituals body lotion which is when I stumbled upon the Rituals The Ritual of Karma Face SPF again. I decided right there that I was going to get this to give this a go and I ended up loving it. I love how the texture feels, it's not oily at all and most importantly: it doesn't break me out.

Rituals The Ritual of Namasté Radiant Glow Cleansing Balm

My final product is yet another Rituals product. It's The Ritual of Namasté Radiant Glow Cleansing Balm. I have been using cleansing gels to rinse my face for about three years now. However, I don't think I have ever been really consistent with any of the cleansing oils or balms I used to use before. Once again, early on in 2018 I discovered that Rituals had completely redone their face products, w love this cleansing gel because it's completely cruelty free and vegan friendly. It basically means there aren't any weird or very harsh products in there, which I can really notice. I am nearly though second bottle of this cleansing balm, and I already look forward to buying myself a new one.
