FIVE FAVOURITES OF DECEMBER

Of course I have to start the New Year with also mentioning the five products I have loved in the month of December. The beginning of December was pretty much spent on autopilot trying to make it from deadline to deadline for university. Stress really took the best of me during December, which meant that December firstly was all about comfort. After I had finished the deadlines it meant I was all about self-care, doing fun things with friends and eating lots of lovely foods to celebrate the holidays.

Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid

But with all the stress from the deadlines and the horrible eating habits – I literally consumed so much chocolate in December – it meant that my skin had a hard time getting through. Throughout the month I definitely have had a couple of breakouts and even in January, when I am writing this post I still have a couple of random spots on my face. Anyway, a couple of days into December I knew I needed to take proper care of my skin. That’s the reason I went back to using the Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid. This is one of my favourite products to use to keep my cystic acne – and just general breakouts – in check. I loved using this nearly every evening in December before I went to bed.

H&M Frenchie sweatshirt

Like I said before December was quite stressful. I spent most of my days in December at home typing away for all of my assignments. This meant I wanted to be extra comfortable while working from home. December therefore was all about comfort and I am pretty sure I spent most of the month working in this H&M sweatshirt that has the text Frenchie on it. Not only is it super cute with the text on it, it is also very comfortable and cosy to wear. It’s a good thing that sweatshirts are back in style because they are so easy to style with any kind of bottoms and immediately make your outfit look super effortless.

Stradivarius red croco bag

At first I just wasn’t sure whether or not I would use this bag a lot. But I somehow became obsessed with the colour red during this autumn/winter. I already briefly mentioned this Stradivarius red croco bag in my autumn winter wardrobe essentials post, but I had to give it a little shout out in my five favourites too. I was a bit hesitant at first, as this bag is definitely a bit different for me, since I usually only really carry black bags around with me. However, this turned out to be one of my most used, if not my only used bag, in the month of December to brighten up my outfits a bit. Not only does this bag brighten up my outfits, it also adds a pop of colour to my wardrobe. Besides that it’s also a bit of a different take on animal prints. We all know how much I love my trusty old Stradivarius Leopard Print bag, so it’s a nice change to also have a croc printed bag.

Kiehl’s Butterstick Lip Treatment*

I already heard one of my best friends talking about this Kiehl’s Butterstick Lip Treatment* before, as she had bought one herself that had a bit of a tint. It was beautiful, but I never got around to buying one. When the lovely girls from Kiehl’s sent over a surprise Christmas gift in the beginning of December this lip balm was included. It was totally unexpected, but this lip balm came in at the right time. My lips are always quite dry, and it’s probably got something to do with me not drinking enough water throughout the day. But throughout the winter months my lips tend to be even worse, I get the worst chapped lips and they are so unbelievably painful. So because they decided to gift this to me, I instantly gave it a go and was immediately impressed by this. I am very picky when it comes to lip balms, I don’t enjoy sticky lip balms and I also don’t enjoy lip balms such as Vaseline as I think they just don’t do anything for my chapped lips. I was immediately impressed by this lip balm the first time I tried it, because as soon as I put it on my lips felt super soft and smooth. Now this may not be something special, but my lips were super dry and chapped before that, so it felt like it had really done something for my lips.

NARS Laguna bronzer

Whenever winter rolls around I always notice I get more and more into makeup. In summer I like to put on just a bit of powder and then run straight out of the door. In winter I always feel like I need a bit more coverage, so that’s when I usually get around to trying lots of new makeup products. Because I was looking a bit pale when I went outside in December I went back to one of my all time favourite bronzers and fell in love once again. The NARS Laguna bronzer has been a favourite of mine for quite a long time. I think I have repurchased this four times already, which basically means it’s one of the only makeup products I religiously repurchase. I love using this bronzer because it looks just about right on my skin tone and makes me look healthy. I use this to bronze up my face a bit and I usually also like using this to contour my cheeks a bit.
