WHAT I LOOK FORWARD TO BEFORE THE YEAR ENDS

It’s such a cliché, as every single person I have spoken to in this last week couldn’t get over the fact of how fast this year is flying by. By the end of this week it will be bloody December! Can you believe it? This year literally flew by! Anyway, I think it’s always good to plan fun things that make you feel happy throughout the months, whether they are scheduled in advance or super last minute. December always is a super busy month where I feel like we are all running around like headless chickens. This end of the year I have a couple of fun things still planned that I really look forward to before 2020 is officially here.

Girls Night with my cousins

It has been a little while since I had a long catch up with my cousins. Every couple of weeks us girls like to get together to catch up over drinks and food. We recently had a little catch up in Amsterdam, where one of my cousins lives, but I have no doubt that we will be getting together again soon in The Hague to chat and chill again. I cannot wait for a night like that again.

Finish decorating my room

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed in recent photos or if you have read my five good things lately post, but I am redecorating my room. I am finally back in my room, we’ve had some issues that we didn’t expect but since about two weeks I am now finally back to sleeping in my room in a proper bed again. We now have to do some finishing touches such as buying new baseboards for the floors and hanging some bits. I also am looking to buy another closet and some drawers. So I’ll probably have a couple of trips to Ikea and other furniture stores left in December. Some might find it exhausting, but I bloody love it and really look forward to fine-tuning my room.

Read two more books

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen that I have completed my reading challenge for 2019 just a week ago. I first set myself a goal to read 15 books this year, but challenged myself further back in September to finish 20 books instead. I am now hoping to finish reading another 2 books by the end of the year, so I can cross 22 books off my to-read list this year. I am currently starting How Do You Like Me Now by Holly Bourne, which is interesting so far. I am only a couple pages into this book so I basically cannot say anything about it yet. Next on my list to read is The Man Who Didn’t Call by Rosie Walsh.

Christmas season

At the beginning of November I was still feeling a bit meh, but halfway through November I have now fully emerged myself into the Christmas spirit. I am really looking forward to Christmas this year as I am really hoping to do fun things now that I have a bit more time on my hands unlike last year. I cannot wait to go to the garden centre, buy a Christmas tree and just spent lots of time hanging out with everyone I love.

Cooking and baking

Food is a big thing in my family. Whenever we all get together as a family, you can count on us feasting away as well. In the past two months I have really fallen back in love with being in the kitchen. I really enjoy cooking and baking now and actually find it a very relaxing way to spend my evenings or weekends. I plan on baking some Christmassy bits this December, which I might share on the blog if they are successful. For the rest of this year I am really looking forward to spending more time in the kitchen cooking and baking lots of new and exciting recipes.

What are you looking forward to before the year ends?
