3 BACK TO UNI/WORK LOOKS

This post contains affiliate links. This post contains a gifted item marked with (*gifted). Read my full disclaimer here.

Back to school season has properly started; uni has started again for me this week. With that comes all the back to school/uni and work related posts. Since I love posting ‘3 ways to style’ posts at the moment, I thought it would be fun to also share three back-to-office looks I would probably wear in the upcoming weeks. Most of these outfits are probably a bit summery, but I have learnt from the past few years that it sometimes can still get quite warm in September and there’s nothing worst than being dressed for colder September weather when in reality it’s 25 degree Celsius weather. Instead of going for my usual jeans and a top kind of outfit I would normally wear to uni, I thought I would put in a bit more of effort.

Dress and a leather jacket

The first look might seem like a bit of an unlike ‘Laura’ kind of outfit. Dresses have never been something I would really go for or wear to uni or work. This summer I definitely have overcome that lack of confidence and have loved to wear dresses. I'm continuing that love for wearing dresses into autumn and went for a piece that is a bit different for me.

This Minus dress (*gifted) is quite a sophisticated dress. It's because of the fit, the high neck, there's no collar and this colour is always a bit more sophisticated in my opinion. These sort of dresses can sometimes look a bit too formal, so it's definitely something out of my comfort zone. Because I can this kind of dress can be quite intimidating, I decided to dress this down a bit to make it more my style. I paired this blue dress with a leather jacket and belt. I styled it with my pair of chunky Adidas Yung 96-J trainers (*affiliate link), which also instantly dresses this kind of outfit down.

Paperbag waist trousers and shirt

This summer I have rediscovered my love for shirts. At the moment I am having a big moment with any linen shirts and blouses. The one I am wearing in these shots seems perfect for those early September days when it can be chilly or warm. In these shots I wore this outfit on its own, but when it's a bit chilly on a September morning, I would pair this outfit with a trench coat. A trench coat is definitely an essential when you're going into the early autumn-weather.

This is definitely one of those outfits I would wear if I have an important presentation at uni or when I am at work all day and have meetings. If I would want to dress this outfit down a bit more, I would style it with a cardigan instead.

A dress and a cardigan

August has been the month for me to finally jump onto that ‘shorter cardigan’-trend that was a big thing earlier this year. Yes it took me a little while, but I honestly thought a shorter cardigan would not look flattering on my body. In August I decided to just go for it, and I love how it looks with this dress and a pair of boots. I think this is a perfect outfit if going to be warm out throughout the day but a bit chilly in the morning. You can also easily ditch the cardigan when the sun comes out and it’s super warm out.

This has got to be one of my favourite outfits I have worn in a long time. I am actually quite disappointed I never had enough confidence to rock a shorter cardigan like this before, because I have so many new looks I want to share with this cardigan that are going to be perfect for the transitional weather.

These are some outfits I would personally wear to go back to uni or work after summer is over. However, I like to think most of the outfits I share on my blog could easily be worn to uni and the office as well. Have a look at some previous style posts if you’re after some more outfit inspiration by clicking the style tag. You can also have a look at the three ways in which I style a linen shirt and the three ways or how I style midi skirts if you want to see more of these '3 looks to wear' kind of posts.

What is your go-to back to uni or work outfit?
