Ever since I came back from my trip to Lisbon I have been feeling super inspired by travel blogs and blog posts about travelling. It’s something I am definitely looking to incorporate more into my blog, especially since I always tend to look for budget friendly trips. I have just come back from my trip to Lisbon and it was amazing! We only had hand luggage with us to make our trip extra budget friendly. If you really know me, then you will know how much I struggle with acne. I have finally come up with a routine that works for my skin and doesn’t break me out as bad anymore. Since I am quite the skincare and makeup junkie and don’t want any new friends on my face while on a budget city break, I thought it would be fun to some of my cabin bag beauty tips and picks with you and share what is in them.

Some of my tips:

You are fairly limited in what you can bring with you if you are away on a city trip. Whenever I go away with friends or when I went away to Lisbon with my cousins I only took my little cabin bag with me that contained everything I needed while I was away for our four-day trip.

Preparation is key

One of the most important things while you are going away is to make sure everything fits into your liquids bag and your makeup bag. Preparation is key when you’re travelling with just your cabin bag, so make sure all your liquids are already inside of a liquids bag so you don’t have to do it while you’re at the customs and you can just breeze through. I also like to do this a couple of days in advance so I don’t have to stress too much the day or night before I am off with trying to fit everything into the little liquids bag.

Decant your stuff

Another great tip is to always decant your makeup products or bring travel mini’s with you. There’s no use in bringing full size makeup products if you’re only going away for a couple of days. That’s why I love to buy mini, travel friendly products. If there are any products I that I use on a daily basis that I can’t find in a travel friendly size, then I would actually decant that product into those clear travel mini’s. So I would usually decant my aloe vera gel or a makeup primer into those little pots to make it easier to travel with.

What’s in my liquids bag

One of the most important bags I pack when I go on a city break is my liquids bag. This basically contains all of my skincare and liquid makeup products that I honestly can’t live without. In Europe we’re only allowed to take beauty products under 100 ml with us with a maximum capacity of one litre. This honestly is perfectly fine and doable if you’re off on a city break. Instead of constantly buying new clear travel zip lock bags for when I travel, I decided to buy a clear travel bag instead. I bought my one from Douglas and you’re allowed to take this with you while travelling.

What’s in my liquids bag:

Miscellaneous dry toiletries

Then I also like to bring another bag with me with all of my ‘dry’ products. These are products that I would still consider as toiletries, but I don’t have to put into a liquids bag. I like to be sure so I would also always pop some Advil and some of my other medication in there to be safe. Then there’s also still some space in their for other beauty products such as makeup brushes or some extra hair ties. The makeup bag I bring with me for this is always different. The one I am using right now is this lovely makeup bag by Charlotte Tilbury.

What’s in my ‘dry’ toiletries bag:
Makeup brushes || Vichy Dermablend Covermatte powder || NARS Laguna bronzer || Catrice Eyebrow Set || Tweezer || Wet Brush hair brush || Cotton buds || extra hair ties and some hair clips || Toothbrush || Medication || A packet of tissues
