My glowy summer makeup look The past few months I have been really loving glowy makeup. I still like to look pretty natural as if I barely have any makeup on, so I always try to achieve a bit of a healthy glow with only a few products. Over the years I have really cut down on beauty products and only really go for natural looks nowadays. This glowy summer makeup look is my newest favourite routine and I have had a few compliments so I have been dying to write a post about it since.

The base

Like I said, I like a bit of a natural looking glow on my face. To accomplish that I try to avoid products as highlighters and use skincare products that help you look glowy instead. The first thing in this summer makeup routine is the Kiehl’s Glow Formula Skin Hydrator. This is a beautiful skin hydrator that leaves you with a healthy glow. I use this product after I have used my SPF, so it kind of works as a primer for me. I use about 1 to 1,5 pump of this on my face. Sometimes I even just tend to wear it on it’s own if I don’t feel like wearing makeup.

Then I move on to a tinted moisturizer. Like I said, I like to have light coverage on my face so I use a tinted moisturizer instead of a foundation or a mineral powder. Right now I love this NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer, and use it in the shade Alaska at the moment as I barely have a tan. I apply about a pea-sized amount all over my face with my hands. I only ever really apply this tinted moisturizer with my hands as I feel it looks the most natural and it’s just the quickest to do.



If there are any imperfections such as blemishes or acne scars still coming through the tinted moisturizer I like to put a little concealer on there. For concealing my spots and scars I love using the NARS Soft Matte Concealer in the colour Custard. I once again just use my hands for this as I feel like it’s just the quickest way to apply this. Lately I have been having a lot of early mornings too and I am definitely starting to get a few dark circles around my eyes. Which is why I also use this concealer around my eyes a bit. Sometimes I like to powder my face a bit with a translucent powder after this step, but I usually just leave it like this.

After concealing I move on to bronzing. I am still using the Marc Jacobs Omega bronzer in Tantric 102. I have had this bronzer for such a long time already and there just does not seem to come an end to it. I don’t mind though, as I love it! With this bronzer I just warm up my face a bit, so I would usually apply a bit of the bronzer to my cheeks and the temples of my face. Then when there’s a little less bronzer on my Zoeva Luxe Soft Definer Face brush, I usually end just putting it all on my face. I also drag this product onto my neck to make sure there’s no major bronzer difference there.

All about eyes

Once I have done my bronzer I usually brush through my eyebrows really quick. This is usually the time where I realize I should have gotten up a bit earlier as I am pretty much running late every morning. So I only really like using a product on my eyebrows that is very quick to put on. In my morning hurry I rediscovered my love for the Soap and Glory Archery 2-in-1 Brow Sculpting Crayon. This is such a great product, it’s easy to use and exactly the colour of my eyebrows which makes it extra easy for me to apply. I avoid using eyebrow gel after this as I just don't really seem to be getting along with eyebrow gel. So after I applied that I quickly move on to mascara.

Personally I am not surprised that I am still using this Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara on an everyday basis. This is my absolute favourite mascara that gives my lashes so much volume with just one coat of mascara. I recently used another mascara from Maybelline or L’Oreal but it just didn’t compare to the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, so I quickly had to get back to my favourite mascara.

And that’s it. That’s my current ‘glowy summer makeup look’. I usually only put on a little bit of lip balm too if I don’t forget to apply it in the morning. Then I’m off to uni or work for the rest of the day. It's a super quick makeup routine and only takes me about five minutes to do in the morning. It leaves you looking healthy, fresh and as if you have had lots of hours of sleep, which I am after now that I am so busy right now.
