Last week has actually flown by, the main reason: The flu that I caught for the second time in about two months. It seems as if there are a few different types of flu going around, and I am hoping I just now healed from my the last flu of this winter. Because I have been spending most of my time last week in bed, it kind of felt like February was over already last week. Instead of posting this post last week, I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favourite moments of February today. It seemed right, as I just came back from a spontaneous trip to Brussels with my friend. But more about that later.
I managed to get enough credits at uni to start my thesis
The first favourite moment of February, would probably be passing all of my exams of year 3 at uni. This means that I have all the credits that I need to start my final thesis, which will eventually lead to me graduating. This has been such a big moment for me, as I was so unsure whether or not I would be able to start on my thesis. Before I didn't have enough credits, but I managed to pass a retake on an assignment. So I am currently on the hunt for a company who would like to have a thesis written. It's such an exciting and scary time as I may as well, as it means that I have to graduate in a years time, and that means that my time at university is slowly coming to an end.
I turned 21
Another very special memory of the month of February was me turning 21. On the 8th of February I turned 21. 21 is such a special number, and I am finally a 'proper' grown up. I don't feel any different than when I turned 20, or 18 even, so to me it wasn't that much of a special age, but that has probably got something to do with me not wanting to be the center of attention. My friends and family did want to celebrate my birthday with me, so I had multiple celebrations throughout the month and had such an amazing birthday 'month'. I had so many fun lunch date celebrations and a little trip planned with friends. Now I also have even more exciting belated birthday activities planned in March, so I very much look forward to
My cousins, uncles, aunt and I went to the theatre
Ever since my cousins and I were young, two aunts and two uncles used to always take us to the theatre. I am the youngest of the family and was only allowed to join in on this tradition ever since I was 7. We stopped doing it when I turned 8 or 9, as all of my other cousins were much older. They were going through puberty and didn't want anything to do with theatre anymore. So the tradition stopped. Last year was quite a hard year for us all, as we one of our aunts who always used to take us to the theatre sadly passed away after being sick for a long time. To honour her, we wanted to pick up this tradition again, and we went to see a family play in my hometown. We all had so much fun at dinner before and at the play. So I really do hope that we will be doing this a lot more often again.
My friend took me to Brussels for my birthday
Another fun moment of this month was my friend wanting to take me to dinner in Brussels for my birthday. On my birthday she actually texted me: "Hey, I want to bring you to dinner for your birthday", I was like "yeah cool, let's do that!". And then she told me she actually wanted to take me to dinner in Brussels. We were both so extremely excited and decided to make plan a little midweek trip away. Since Brussels is so close by, we went by train and stayed there for about 36 hours. I literally just came back from this little trip and am so excited to share lots of new travel content of Brussels soon. Brussels is just such a gorgeous city, and this is all making me very excited for more of these little, short trips away.
