DIARY | THE SUNDAY POST

It has been absolute ages since I last sat down and wrote a proper Sunday post. I don’t really have time to sit down, as I am in the middle of studying for exams. I have two exams on Tuesday and my anxiety and stress levels are kind of through the roof right now. But I really wanted to sit down and write this post, because a few things have been happening in the past few weeks that I just felt like I needed to share with you.

When I say a few things have been happening, I basically mean that my uni life has been really hectic and basically is taking over my life. I am currently in my second year of university, and I will be going into my third year at university in the beginning of February. I think I have explained this already in this post, but I am not in the regular university terms, because I decided to drop out of another university about two years ago and started a new course at the university I am currently at in February 2015.

Anyway, I am going into my third year of university in February this year and we have this procedure that we have to start interning at companies in our third year. So over the past few months I have been writing lots of application letters to lots different companies.

I managed to get lucky and got accepted for an internship at the first company that invited me for an interview. I feel very blessed to have found an internship at a (well-known) Dutch company. And I am very excited to be starting the internship soon. So from February until June this year I will experience the 'office-life' and everything that comes with becoming an adult.

Interning at this point really terrifies me, because I still feel like I am useless as a nineteen-year-old baby in the Communications and Marketing industry. Being an intern at a big company is such an honour, but at the same time really terrifies me, as they might be having high expectations, that I won't be able to fulfill. But I’m sure I will manage after my first week! The people at the company are very lovely and have been very helpful ever since I first got in contact with them.

So now that I will be interning, I pretty much will be saying goodbye to my ‘normal’ university life. After I finish my internship, I will have to write a mini-thesis and next year I will start writing my final thesis. The years are literally flying by these days and I am so insecure about my future. I always feel like people have their shit together, and I’m just here being a hopeless uni student, still living at home. Being broke. But thankfully most of my friends in my class feel the same about their future, so that gives me some reassurance that things will fall into place for us all eventually.

For now I’m just taking things one day at a time. Starting with me studying all day today. After I finish my exams on Tuesday, I get to go to a fun blogger event and I have another blog event on Thursday!

After I have had a few days to wind down from my exam stress, I’ll move on to thinking about how I am going to plan things on my blog while I will be interning. Interning means working 5 days a week from 9 to 5. So the first few weeks of February might be a bit messy, with a non-consistent blogging schedule, but I am ready and excited to figure out this new chapter in my life!
