MY LAZY AND MINIMAL MAKEUP ROUTINE

This post contains affiliate links. Please read my full disclaimer here.
It has been a while since I have last done a makeup routine. It’s basically because my makeup always tends to look the same. I tend to stick to the products I love and never really switch my look up with funky eye or lip colours. I like to be as minimal and natural with my makeup as possible, so I didn’t really feel like I needed to write an updated makeup routine. As of lately, I have made a few adjustments in my minimal makeup routine that only takes about 5 minutes.
Like I said before, this is a super minimal and quick makeup routine that I put on whenever I am going into town to meet friends, have meetings or feel like putting makeup on. As of lately I have really been trying to avoid putting on makeup if I know I am going to be spending a lot of time at home. But whenever I do put it on, I don’t want to be spending a lot of time on it as I know I will wash it off again as soon as I get home.
I always start it all off by moisturising and doing all my skincare stuff. After that I put on SPF and begin on my base. I love using tinted moisturisers, BB or CC creams or skin tints. The one I am currently using and loving is the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+ Teint in Medium. The shade range of this product is absolutely horrifying as there are only two shades. I cannot believe that this is my ‘summer shade’ and the lighter shade is my winter shade. I feel like they could definitely improve on the shades for other people, as it is now a product that is available to only a limited amount of people. I like to put about a pea size amount of this onto the palm of my hand and get my Real Techniques Setting Brush to start working this product into my skin. I am using a really small brush because I obviously saw Katie Jane Hughes using one in a video recently and wanted to see if it really makes a difference to use a small brush instead. I do think the small brush makes it easier to even out the skin tone a bit. I now try to not cover my whole face in a base product, but only really try to even out my skin. If I want to be a bit quicker I would just use my hands anyway as it’s quicker and I’m not always as patient.
Next is bronzer. Again. I can never do a makeup routine without bronzer, or so it seems. Whereas before I preferred using a powder bronzer, I have now gone back to using a creamy bronzer or a foundation stick that is slightly darker than my own skin tone. I am using the Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour or the Rimmel London Insta Contour Stick. I know I said I wasn’t supposed to be using cream products on my skin anymore, as I feel like it could potentially break me out. I just love using a cream bronzer now as I use a new Real Techniques Setting Brush to put it onto my face. This brush makes your makeup look a lot more natural because I can never really find a brush that looks good in the hollows of my cheeks. I then go back to my other Real Techniques Setting Brush I used for my base to blend in the harsh line.

My eyebrow products are also nearly always the same. At the moment I have gone back to the L’Oreal Brow Artist Xpert eyebrow pencil in the shade 105 Brunette. I draw in some hairs, brush through both eyebrows, put on some lip balm and I am good to go. At the moment I am using the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Lipbalm, which is absolutely divine. If I want to, I will also add some NARS Climax mascara, but lately I have not really been bothered with it, as I have had a cold for the longest time and my eyes keep watering out of nowhere. So there’s no point really in putting it on.
