WINTER WEEKEND COMFORT OUTFIT

The weekends are always my favourite time of the week. I love strolling around town during the weekend. However, if there’s one thing, it’s that I need to be comfortable if I know I am going to be in town all Saturday or Sunday. So what my friends and I love to do, is we like to go out for brunch first and then just walk around the area for a bit. If there’s not a lot of things to do around that area of town, then we usually just go into the city centre to stroll and look at the shops for the rest of the day.

Now if there’s one thing I have learnt from brunching in the weekend, is that’s you need to be comfortable. I tend to always overdo brunch a bit and love eating bread. Both overeating and my love for bread are not that good of a combo for my tummy, as I always tend to feel a bit bloated after brunch. That’s why it’s so essential for me to be super comfortable during the weekend so I can easily stroll around town without having a pair of skinny jeans cutting into my tummy. As much as I love comfort during the week, I am also a major comfort outfit seeker during the weekend and this is one of my go-to winter weekend comfort looks.

Teddy coat

Teddy coats are such a winter wardrobe staple this year. They can really be found in any shop on the high street as well as some more expensive stores. I love seeing how everyone else style their teddy coats, because it always gives me so much inspiration on a new look. Teddy coats are perfect if you want to be super cosy on a cold day around town. I always make fun of myself when I wear this, because it’s definitely not the most flattering coat on me. So whenever I wear this I like to call myself a little bear. This one was such a steal from Primark, but I still also have a two other teddy coats I love to wear whenever I am strolling around town.

Cosy jumpers

Winter weekends always tend to be a lot colder, which is obvious because it actually is winter. So if I know I am going to be strolling around town all day, I need to be super cosy and warm. That’s why I also love wearing super cosy jumpers. My go-to jumpers are usually black, but I also love wearing camel or grey jumpers around town.

Comfortable trousers

Of course I couldn’t go a blog post where I write about comfort without mentioning my favourite pair of comfortable trousers. If you have not invested in a pair of comfortable and smart trousers with an elasticated waist, then you are really missing out in life. Not only do I love wearing these trousers if I am going to work, I also loved dressing up a bit more sophisticated during the weekend. With these elasticated waist trousers I can easily pull off a sophisticated look without feeling uncomfortable after having brunch.

White trainers

Now of course I would never, ever go to town without wearing a pair of trainers. I think this is something that is quite ‘Dutch’ or how a lot of Dutch women like to dress. I am pretty sure I can say pretty much all the other Dutch gals I know all like to dress to be super comfortable, which is why most of us tend to wear trainers. I know there are a few exceptions, but even my mum and aunts always wear a pair of Adidas trainers whenever they go off on an adventure into town. It’s no secret that I have been obsessed with dad trainers and I feel like I am always wearing my Adidas Yung 96 trainers all the time. So to me personally it comes as no surprise that I would also include these trainers into my winter weekend comfort outfit.
