Set certain days to work on the blog
One of the most important things is to have set days to work on your blog. In the past I used to always rush-write my blog posts the in the afternoon before setting them live at 6 pm CET. Last year that got to an abrupt stop as I started interning full time during the week. I was unable to write posts in the afternoon and had to find other ways to blog. I have learnt so much about my blog and how I need at least one day a week to pre-write my posts. From September last year until February this year I had two 'Blog Days' planned into my week, which were Monday and Tuesday. Those were the days I would usually plan in to shoot, write and edit all of the content for my blog. Sometimes I also planned to pre shoot my instagram photos for the upcoming week. Nowadays I have less time to do all of this, as I am going to uni quite a lot and also am working on writing my thesis at a company. So nowadays I plan my Monday mornings and Wednesday mornings to work on the blog.
Pre shoot your content
Back in the day, when I only went to school three days a week and still had lots of time to work on my blog, I always shot my content, then wrote the content and published it on the same day. As ideal as it sounds, this is not something I am able to do anymore. I want to take my time on writing and shooting the content. Therefore I am always pre shooting and writing my content for the blog. It's just a lot easier to take on little tasks during the week when you're writing a post, instead of feeling stressed about having to get a post up that exact day.Create a content calendar and stick to it
One thing that helps to keep up my blog too is to have a content calendar. This is one of those things that I am really hoping lots of bloggers already do, but if not, it's so useful! Planning out your content for a week or a month is such a good way to motivate yourself to blog.I basically make myself a monthly layout with all the posts I want to write during that month. This way you know what to post and when to post it. It's kind of like your diary where you would write down all your appointments, but instead you write down the name of the post and whether you have shot, written, edited and shared your content.
Another thing that is great about this, is you give yourself a deadline on when to post a certain post. In the past I sometimes would postpone a certain post because I felt too lazy to write a longer post that day. Thanks to the content calendar I have a stricter way of working and I now know when I have to finish creating the content before publishing it on my blog!
Write down blog post ideas
Over the past couple of months I have really tried to write about more 'serious' topics. I wanted to write about topics I enjoyed writing and reading about. We all have our views and opinions on certain things in life or want to write about other things that interest us. Those kind of topics don't just come to mind when you're staring at your laptop at 5 in the afternoon when your post has to go live at 6. Sometimes new blog post ideas pop into your head at the most random moments in time. Therefore I always write these down in either a notebook or in my notes on my phone. This way I always have some sort of backup of blog post ideas when I am uninspired when planning new content.Set up a locations list for shoots
Outfit shooting has to be as efficient as possible for me. Therefore I like to have a note on my phone with all the pretty places in The Hague where I could possibly shoot. This really helps for efficiency and works whenever you have multiple outfits to shoot during a day. This way you're not spending a lot of time looking for new locations to shoot outfits at.The same goes for how I want to plan out a recipe or beauty post. I like to work on a little mood board or make myself a list of elements of decoration I might want to use while photographing those photos. This way it makes it easier and more efficient for you to shoot your content.
Hopefully these tips were helpful to you. I am always looking for new ways to be more productive on working on my blog. I would love to know if you have any other tips or tricks you do when you're working on your blog or shooting new content!

I always struggle with locations for outfits and definitely need to start writing them down! These are all such great tips and I couldn't agree more with you on the importance of these! xx

VerwijderenI love this post and it has some amazing advice! I also have a content calendar kind of thing, I try to plan monthly what I want to blog about and stick to that plan. I always have so many ideas for my blog but never end up doing them, going to have a brainstorming session and start writing about things I'm passionate on!x
