The revision of my exams drives me crazy, so some nights I feel like I need a real escape. Not an escape of online shopping (which is quite enjoyable too), but an escape of reading a book with a cup of tea, in my bed. I absolutely love reading books as it is the only thing that calms me down when I feel quite stressed. My friends think I am weird for reading books for pleasure, and they give me weird looks when I recommend them a new book to read, but it's something that I love doing since I was young. I used to read a couple of pages of a book before I went to bed and slept like an angel. This last year has been stressful, I barely had time to read any books at night. I usually finish homework and projects for school at 10 at night, which means that I will be in bed at around 10.30. Which seemed pointless for me to read, as I usually fall asleep at 11 at night.
Now that my revision is taking the best of me, I am trying to relax a bit more at night. I try to be in bed early, I try to read books. I am currently reading Looking for Alaska by John Green and I feel like I am in another world when I read it. I guess you could say that books are my great escape. I'm nearly finished in Looking for Alaska and I am planning on reading The Fault In Our Stars next. If you have any other book recommendations please comment them below, tweet me or email me! Because I need some books for when I finished my exams! ;)
very nice look!

so glad to hear you're reading john green, he's amazing. and some of the fault in our stars is set in the netherlands! if you like john green, i strongly recommend reading noughts and crosses by malorie blackman and the perks of being a wallflower by stephen chbosky (if you havent read them already!) also good luck with exams i have them too :((

I completely agree! I love reading too and I also find it so therapeutic. I love both of the books you mentioned, and I agree with Anna above this comment that you should read Noughts and Crosses, as The Perks of being a Wallflower - both such good books! I love The Book Thief too, although it's much harder-hitting than those aforementioned. A gripping read though :)

I love reading! Sadly none of my friends like to ready so it's kind of a bummer I have no one to share book recommendations with! Thankfully one of my friends is slowly starting to get into book reading so I'm happy.... Let's hope she sticks with it! Honestly, I have no idea why people hate reading so much... It's literally so much better than a movie! The way that authors write and are able to make your mind think up the way things look and stuff.... So interesting!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLooking for Alaska was the first John Green book I read out of the four that he was written (by himself). Out of the four, The Fault in Our Stars and Paper Towns are definitely my favorite! I liked LFA but I had such high expectations for it (thanks to Tumblr) I was sort of let down but it still was a good book.
I just finished Perks of Being a Wallflower (original cover YAYYYYY) and I just started the Great Gatsby (original cover as well... For some reason I can't stand movie covers).

Very cute outfit, I love it! Hope your exams go well, I definitely know the feeling of being burdened with revision - it will be worth it in the end! You're right, there is nothing better than getting lost in a book, I feel like I am the only one who hasn't read a John Green book yet! I need to get by hands on one! xx
