Oh hello February! January felt so long and I am so happy it's February. Mainly because it's my birthday later this week. January was a long month and we definitely had a couple of days where it was super gloomy and rainy, which definitely is the thing I hate about winter. But winter will always have those days and the winter depression has definitely been real in January. That's why I had to lift my spirits a bit in different things. There definitely are a couple of things I have loved as well as used lots in January that I can't wait to share with you.
H&M Striped top
One of the first things I bought in the beginning of the year is a new striped tee. I always tell people that a striped tee is my statement item, the one item I always gravitate back to. However, I found myself not wearing a striped tee that much anymore and it wasn't because I didn't love them anymore. It's because I probably didn't have a collection that I liked to use. So that's why I haven't worn them in a while. Anyway, I decided to get myself a new striped tee and I have fallen back in love with wearing a striped top. This
striped tee from H&M is my current favourite as it has a little Mickey Mouse detail on the top. It is actually a top from the men's section, and I actually think the more structured striped tops are the kind of style I like to wear.
Chilly water bottle
The next thing I have been loving in January is my
Chilly water bottle. I had been feeling a bit under the weather in the beginning of January. My parents basically told me off for not drinking enough water in winter and I basically had to tell them they are right. My water intake has been so bad these past few months. That's why I wanted to focus on drinking a bit more water and got my Chilly water bottle out again. It's funny how just the looks of a bottle of water can motivate me to actually drink more water. I love this bottle as it always keeps your water super cold throughout the whole day, which definitely makes it more pleasing to drink water.
Clinique 72 hour Moisture Surge moisturiser
A couple of weeks ago I had a little bit of a breakout again. This was why I started using the
Clinique 72 hour Moisture Surge moisturiser. I had a couple of dry patches on my face and my nose was feeling especially dry. Those dry patches as well as my little breakout led to me doing a bit more of my research and I actually discovered that my skin is dehydrated. I read all about dehydrated skin on Caroline Hiron's blog, one of my favourite places to read about and notice new things about my skin. Dehydrated is a skin condition which is not something I can stop from happening by drinking more water. I remembered receiving a sample of this moisturiser a couple of months ago and I had not really used it before. I decided to give this a go as it is specifically designed to improve dehydrated skin. I have used it ever since and I am obsessed with this moisturiser, so much so that I even got my parents to try and love it.
Kiehl's Glow Formula Skin Hydrator*
Winter comes with a bit of a dull skin, at least I don't know how to look super glowy and healthy like I have just come back from a holiday when in reality my skin has not seen any sun in at least five months. So it's all about faking it until I make it and can actually afford to be on holiday twice a year instead of once - it's all about that future dream, right. In the mean time I will just have to fix this with skincare and some makeup products. I already talked lots about the
Kiehl's Glow Formula Skin Hydrator in my '
Four products for glowy skin' post. This product has been gifted to me by the girls over at Kiehl's last year and I still love to use it so much. It gives you a gorgeous, healthy looking glow. The only thing I am not really a fan of, is the lid of this product, I feel like it's not properly securing the product which means I probably will have to repurchase this product myself soon as it might be dried out soon.
ASOS Farleigh jeans
Finally I have been loving my
ASOS Farleigh jeans. These jeans have been on my body lots in January and I just loved wearing them. At first I found it difficult to find a pair of mom jeans that I actually love to wear, but then I discovered these. I had a bit of a nightmare with sizing and everything with these jeans, but I feel like I finally found the size that fits me best and I am now a person who wears blue jeans a lot. This is not something I had envisioned for myself, as I would only wear black jeans. I still love wearing black jeans and have actually ordered myself a right fitting pair of black mom jeans - but blue jeans have become such a favourite of mine too!
