I honestly cannot believe that it’s this far into August already. This year literally is flying by so fast I can’t quite comprehend it. As you probably know, I went on holiday in July, so when I was thinking about what I had been loving during July, I had quite a bit of a brain fart. The main reason for this is that I basically spent most of my days in July in a bikini with no makeup on. Whenever we did decide to do something while we were away on holiday, I chose to wear the most basic items I own. So those basically are my absolute favourite items during the month of July.
ASOS button through dress
The first thing I have loved in the month of July, is this beautiful button through dress from ASOS. Look at me wearing dresses, am I right? I usually never really like to wear dresses, mainly because I feel a bit uncomfortable in them. But this beautiful dress is just the right length, which makes me feel comfortable enough to wear it a lot. And so I did, especially in July. I think I wore this dress at least four times while I was away on holiday and have worn it quite a lot ever since I have been back from my holiday. We have such a glorious summer this year that it’s just too hot to wear anything else than dresses when you’re out and about in town.
This dress basically is the perfect ‘shirt dress’, that looks so cute on basically anyone whom I have seen it wearing. Besides that I also love that it’s so comfortable and breezy which is perfect in this heat! Right now I am wishing that they would stock this dress in so many more colours, because I feel like this is one of those dresses that definitely is a staple piece in your wardrobe.
ZARA white linen tee
Finally I am going to mention a very basic item on my list. It’s this white linen tee from ZARA that I have bought ages and ages ago. I already wrote a long post on why you should invest in linen this summer and during my holiday I have proved myself right. Whenever we would go into town or do something during the hottest moments of the day, I always made sure that I wore some sort of linen item of clothing. This way I would for sure know that I wouldn’t be too hot during the day. Linen is such a breathable fabric and if it were possible I would own every item of clothing that is made from linen, as it’s so breathable and perfect for extremely hot, or balmy summer days we've been having here lately.Aloe Vera gel
Like I said before, I barely touched any makeup and had such a minimal skincare routine. In the past month I have definitely rambled on and on about this Aloe Pura Aloe Vera gel on the blog. And it’s back again. This aloe vera gel came in so handy while I was on holiday. I had a very bad, itchy allergic reaction to a mosquito bite and put some aloe vera gel on there. It soothed it a bit. I also used it as a cooling gel when I caught a tiny sunburn on my leg.Aloe vera gel is such a great multi purpose product. Aloe vera gel is also part of my skincare routine, as I put a pea-sized amount of aloe vera gel onto my face every morning and every night. This ended up in my skin being a lot less flared up like it usually would. I can contain a bit more of my acne and it helps repair all the little scars that I had gotten over the past few weeks, months and years.
Rituals face SPF
I feel like it’s necessary to mention some sort of a face SPF in the month of July. It comes as no surprise that I am yet again absolutely in love with the Rituals the Ritual of Karma face SPF 50. This little tube has lasted me a good three months so far and I have used it every day since April. Whenever you go out in the sun it’s so important to put some sort of SPF on your face and neck to prevent any pigmentation or wrinkles from happening. This product definitely did that job for me. Besides my daily moisturizer, this was the only product I have been putting on my face these last couple of weeks.Since I have been using this product, I have not really had any breakouts from sunscreen anymore, which is perfect! So as soon as I run out of this SPF, I will be repurchasing this. I also find that this is such an affordable sunscreen considering how long it has lasted me so far.
That asos dress looks so flattering on you 😊
