FIVE FAVOURITES OF MARCH

This post contains affiliate links. Please read my full disclaimer here.

Even though March has been a bit of a weird month, I wanted to share some positives of the month too. When it’s hard to find positives in a day when you’re filled with anxiety, it’s good to look for small positives in it all. In this difficult time I actually wanted to highlight some products that have brought me some sort of joy or eased my mind in these weird times.

Ray-Ban Meteor sunglasses

I think I first saw the Ray-Ban Meteor sunglasses on Lizzy from Shot From The Street and then on Alix from I Covet Thee and became obsessed with these sunnies. Back in January I stumbled upon a big discount on these sunglasses so I decided to buy them for myself and I have been obsessed with wearing them ever since. March was the first month this year where it actually felt sunny pretty much all the time, so I had plenty of time to wear these while I was in Malaga. Now that we’re pretty much self-isolated I still wear them all the time if I am out and about for my daily bit of outside exercise (obviously only a walk) or if I have to go out to do groceries. I have noticed that my eyes are becoming quite sensitive to sunlight, which is a side effect of the Accutane my dermatologist warned me about. So now even more than before I tend to reach for my sunglasses even when it’s overcast but quite bright outside.

Eucerin Aquaphor

Since we’re on the topic of my Accutane treatment, I also had to mention Aquaphor from Eucerin. Back in January I asked you for tips for dry, cracked lips, skin, basically everything! Aquaphor came back often as one of the biggest recommendations. And I have to say I am sold on this product. This is a repairing balm specifically made to helps to regenerate your skin when it’s extremely dry, irritated or cracked. Now that I am three months into my Accutane treatment I am really experiencing dryness all over my body. With the Corona virus and just my oil being sucked out with these pills I have noticed especially my hands and my face becoming extremely dried out. So I put this on my lips and the corners of my mouth, because they kept cracking and it does miracles. I can now open my mouth fully again without it cracking open or having any sort of bleeding. Same goes for my hands, I actually developed some sort of eczema on my hands because I kept washing my hands. I put the Aquaphor on the tops of my hands every time I was then and it helps soothe them and they actually have gone back to looking normal again.

La Roche Posay Anthelios 50+ Shake Fluide

My next favourite is a product that I have loved for ages and ages. In March I have fallen back in love with the La Roche Posay Anthelios 50+ Shake Fluide. I can really notice my skin being more sensitive to sunlight now with the Accutane, so I have been putting SPF on like there is no tomorrow. Now that I am actually seeing my cells turnover I notice how much on an impact the SPF has on the hyperpigmentation that is usually left behind by my acne. You are supposed to put it on every day to prevent the hyperpigmentation from staying around for too long. Before I was on Accutane my scars would take months, sometimes up to a year to fade. Even with me putting sunscreen on every day. But now that I am wearing this sunscreen every day, religiously, yes even when I stay at home all day, I notice an enormous difference. The pigmentation of the scars have gone down massively and this whole Accutane journey has just made me appreciate SPF even more than before.
I love this one from La Roche Posay because it’s very liquid and doesn’t feel sticky when I put it on. It doesn’t feel like your standard, normal SPF you would put on your face. It’s actually enjoyable to put on and it doesn’t drag around your face. This also does not contain fragrance or interferes with my day cream, which is probably why I love it so much. To top it all off it gives my face a little bit of a glow, because it’s sunscreen. This is just one of those products that I probably will continue to buy for the rest of my life because of how much I actually love using it.

This Works Sleep Plus Pillow Spray

With everything going on at the moment I have noticed I feel more anxious. And I overthink more than I probably should. In March I have had quite a lot of anxious filled nights, which is why I started using the This Works Sleep Plus Pillow Spray every night again. This pillow spray is sent to me once every couple of months by the This Works team, but as soon as it runs out I always buy it for myself again. I bought this spray soon after I had finished the one that was gifted to me. This spray helps to really help me calm down at night. I feel more at ease and calm as soon as I spray this onto my pillow. If I don’t use this I tend to be awake until the early hours, which is really only inducing my anxiety even more. The pillow spray helps me sleep through the night and I feel happy and calmer when I wake up. I notice such a difference in when I have or have not used this spray at night.

H&M Sage green jumper

It might be spring, but the temperatures here in The Netherlands might tell us something different. It’s still quite chilly here for this time of year so I cannot seem to stop wearing my sage green jumper from H&M. I have to be completely honest with you, as this was a bit of an impulse buy. I usually like to think a little longer about purchasing certain items, but when I saw this online I grabbed it before I even could think about it twice. Since getting this somewhere in February I have worn it lots. I tend to wear this with jeans, but I also think I could easily layer this with a dress for spring or summer when it’s slightly chilly. One of the things I think I love most about this jumper is the colour. I am obsessed with this sage green colour at the moment and basically want to have an entire section of my wardrobe dedicated to this colour.
