FIVE FAVOURITES OF DECEMBER

This post contains affiliate links. Please read my full disclaimer here.

So have we all settled back into normal life again after all the festivities of December and the beginning of this year? I have to be honest with you, secretly I am so glad that it’s all over. Not only was I slowly starting to feel quite overwhelmed and stressed by all the obligations, but my skin was also starting to pay the price. And it’s not so weird to be honest because of the amount of chocolate, cheese and wine consumed over Christmas and New Years. I am ready to get back into my healthy routine again. I have one more look back on last month, as I wanted to share the five products I have loved using in that month.

washed black ASOS Farleigh mom jeans

In my Fashion Favourites of 2019 post I already shared that mom jeans have become a huge part of my life. I recently cleared out my wardrobe and got rid of a lot of old pairs of black skinny jeans. It reminded me how much I actually love to wear and style black jeans in winter. Back in November I owned only one pair of black mom jeans and whenever I wanted to wear them, they would be in the wash. So it would just be logical to buy myself another pair that I know I will wear until I have ripped the jeans apart at my thighs. Anyway, I ended up buying this pair of Farleigh jeans during the ASOS Black Friday sale and I have worn them loads since getting them. The length is perfect for my short legs and they look really nice with either trainers or boots.

Elie Saab Le Parfum Eau de Parfum

Another product that has also been mentioned earlier this week on the blog is the Elie Saab Le Parfum Eau de Parfum. I briefly mentioned it in my 'Beauty Products That Changed My 2019' post, but it also deserves a mention in my five favourites of December post. This is my current go-to perfume to put on every day. I love the flowery-woody scent and it feels so nice to put on in the winter. This scent is also very long lasting, which I personally love. I often still smell this scent when I put my winter scarf on and sometimes I can still smell it on my own skin if I take a shower the next morning. This scent has basically become my signature scent again after being reunited with it after not having it for a couple of years.

The Ordinary 10% Niacinamide + Zinc 1%

The start of December already started off as a big nightmare for me skin-wise. At the start of the month my skin started freaking and breaking out like crazy. It was actually painful and it honestly felt like this was the worst my skin has ever been. I think it’s mainly due to a combination of hormones, poor diet throughout December and not getting enough hours of sleep at night. Anyway, my skin was super inflamed, bumpy and just really painful so I knew I had to get back to using my favourite product by The Ordinary, this niacinamide. Niacinamide is great for repairing your skin barrier and helps control the sebum production. I have used it again for a couple of weeks now and can already see such an improvement in my skin. Now that the madness has all died down a bit more I have less spots, which is always reassuring. I’m not going to live without a bottle of Niacinamide in the near future any time soon, as I notice it has such a positive effect on my skin and helps with my acne marks, hyper pigmentation as well as keeping my sebum (oil) production under control.

H&M turtle neck jumper

I have had this jumper from H&M for a couple of years now and I have fallen back in love with it again. It’s truly winter now and we have had some super cold days in December, so all my thicker knits have come out the back of my wardrobe again to play. I have made a conscious effort this year to not buy any new knits and it has actually made me fall back in love with all the knits I own already. This one keeps me super warm and cosy if it’s super chilly outside. I also love to wear it because of the gorgeous neutral/camel jumper as I am currently having a big moment with neutrals.

Cali Tiger Zelda necklace

November and December have been the months where I have fallen back in love with jewellery again. I have not stopped wearing necklaces the past two months. One of my current favourite necklaces is this Zelda necklace from Cali Tiger. I saw a couple of necklaces that were similar to this one from Cali Tiger, but I didn’t want to spend over €100 on a necklace I would not know if I would wear it often. I bought this necklace during a flash sale at Cali Tiger and it’s become one of the necklaces I have reached toward most because of the gorgeous design. It has become a staple now though, so I might even invest in one that’s slightly more expensive soon.
