MY SUMMER FASHION FAVOURITES

This post contains affiliate links

Summer is nearly over and I cannot believe it. Maybe you are starting to look forward to getting back into autumn, going back to work or uni and just autumn weather. That’s definitely not the case for me personally. It’s probably because I haven’t been away on summer holiday yet, although my time will come soon! Even though I find it hard to nearly have to say goodbye to summer, life has to go on and I thought it would be nice to share some of my fashion favourites of this summer with you. I always think these sorts of posts are super fun to create, as it gives me a bit of an insight into what I have loved wearing in summer in previous years.

I feel like my style is pretty classy, I love my basics, classics and simple colours. This year was no different really, although I did add something new to my wardrobe. One of the things I have loved this year was definitely different for me and out of my comfort zone. The things I am mentioning in today’s blog post are basically items I have worn lots throughout this season and couldn’t live without. These have become my actual summer fashion essentials.

Midi dresses

Obviously I was talking about midi dresses before when I told you I wore things outside of my comfort zone. 2019 was the year I fully embraced dresses again and fell back in love with wearing dresses. I still can feel a bit insecure when wearing dresses, but I have found the perfect solution for that: midi dresses. This summer I have worn them lots. It’s honestly my biggest surprise that I wore them this much this summer. I wore all different sorts of midi dresses. In this post today I am sharing one of my classier midi dresses, but let’s not forget the amazing animal print midi dress from ASOS I fell in love with or the khaki midi dress of my dreams. I have obviously loved wearing them this season and cannot wait to rock them a few more times while I’m away on holiday later this year.
You can shop (similars of) the midi dresses I wore this summer below.

Straw bag

Summer cannot go by without me sharing my love for a straw bag. Even though I am not particularly a lover of the beach, I do love to carry straw bags around with me during the summer. I feel like they make an outfit look effortless and instantly add a pop of summer to an outfit. The bag I carried around with me is from last year by Primark and still is in such a good condition. I have loved styling it this summer with midi dresses, but also wore it with midi skirts or just a pair of jeans or trousers. I always feel like carrying around a straw bag makes me look like I am fresh of the French Riviera, which is a kind of chic look I want to achieve.

H&M sunglasses

I feel like I haven’t really shared as many outside outfit shoots as I wanted to this summer, which means you have barely seen me wear sunglasses. One pair of sunglasses I have worn lots in my day-to-day life during summer is this pair by H&M. I think it is a cat-eye inspired shape (?) I don’t know, detecting shapes in sunglasses isn’t really my strong suit. Anyway, I have fallen in love with wearing this sunglasses, even though I didn’t think they suit me at first. It’s an issue I have, if they don’t look similar to the shape of my old, but beloved pair of Céline Baby Audrey sunglasses, I am anxious to see if they look good on me at all. I got over it and decided to go for them anyway. I feel like they’re one of those pairs of sunglasses that could still look quite classy in a few years time.

Chunky trainers

So the final thing I have loved this summer, is obviously not really just a pair of shoes/trainers I have loved just this summer. It’s more of a 2019 favourite, as I have worn my Adidas Yung 96-J trainers so much. I have fallen in love with the white chunky trainers trend and I cannot stop wearing them either. These trainers are the most comfortable thing out there and I am here for it. Comfort is everything in my style, especially on my feet. I get so cranky when my feet are painful, so comfort is my number one priority. These chunky trainers give me the comfort I am after while also making my summer outfits a little different. In summer I have styled these chunky trainers lots with midi dresses. They make these outfits look a bit tougher, which is just the kind of look I love, instead of going for something a girly look, which isn’t really my style.
