RECIPE | SUMMER GUACAMOLE RECIPE

I love avocado and I have posted about avocado like recipes before, like this tuna salad recipe. Another avocado recipe that I absolutely love is guacamole. It's so quick and easy and I kind of made this my own recipe throughout the years. I am not a pro, and I don't use all the ingredients that you traditionally would use, such as tomato, as I really don't like tomatoes.

The recipe I made, will give you one bowl of guacamole, which is the perfect amount to share with your friend or your boyfriend when you're just having a really nice and chill movie night or a light summer evening meal. So what you'll need for this recipe is:

The ingredients:
2 avocados
1/2 a red onion
1/2 a red pepper
1 or 2 cloves of garlic
1/2 a lemon

The first thing you do is mash your avocados. I like to mash it in a mortar with a pestle. I like to leave my avocado kinda chunky, instead of it being completely smooth, which is how you would buy it in the supermarkets.

Once you've mashed up all of the avocado, it's time to cut your red onion, red pepper and garlic. I usually cut these up roughly, as I don't have the patience to really cut everything into really small pieces. For the garlic I decided to use a garlic grinder, so I would end up having garlicy smelling fingers for the rest of the evening.

Then you add the red onion, red pepper and the garlic to the bowl of avocado. You just stir through it a bit with a fork so that the red onion, the red peper and the garlic are evenly spread out through the mashed avocado's.

This is optional, but I always like to add a little bit of lemon juice, to make my guacamole a bit more zengy. Squeeze a little bit out of the lemon and give the guacamole a little try, if you like it then leave it, but if you feel like it's a bit too spicy, then add a little bit more lemon juice. Just keep tasting the guacamole if you add more lemon juice, so the lemon juice won't predominate the rest of the guacamole.

That's it. Serve the guacamole with pita bread, tortilla chips, or cucumber and carrots like I did, and you're ready to have a nice meal to have when you're hanging out with your friends. Happy summer!

Let me know if you'll try out this recipe or if you have your own guacamole recipe! Would love to know how you make your guacamole recipes!

  1. This looks SO good. I keep buying the store-bought guacomole because they seem hard to make. But you make it so easy!

    1. It's so quick and easy and so much more tasty when you make it yourself! If you're feeling extra lazy you could always put it in a nutribullet or any kind of blender! xx :)
