Summer calls for a lighter makeup routine than usual and when an anonymous person on tumblr asked me what my current makeup routine is, I decided to make another one of my routine posts. Your wish is my command and I love writing these posts, so here's what I put on my face during summer.
Over the past few months my skin, luckily enough cleared up a bit. So before I start I always use a primer hoping to control my skin. I'm currently using the Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer, which I don't particularly love, but it's more of a I need to finish the product kind of product. Then I'll start with my concealer and cover up any pimples, spots, dark spots and circles. I am in love with this concealer. It's the NARS Creamy concealer in Custard and gives me such good coverage. Once I feel like my concealer does the job of making my face look semi-presentable, I set my concealer with this Bourjois healthy balance powder. I have the shade 53 beige clair, which is the perfect colour for summer.
Then I'll move on to giving my face a tiny bit of colour by using the Chanel Les Beiges healthy glow sheer colour in the shade 20. I usually use this as a bronzer as it's a bit dark for me. It would go onto my forehead, nose, temples. Basically my entire face. Once I'm done with that I start with the highlight. I am obsessed with highlighters lately. I love healthy, glowy looking skin! The product I am currently using is Topshop's Glow in the shade Polish. I put that on my cheekbone, down my nose, in my inner eye and the tiniest amount under the eyebrow. I don't know why, I see beauty guru's on youtube do it, so I copy them! ;)
Once I am done with the "base" I move onto my eyebrows and for my eyebrows I like using the Soap & Glory Archery 2-in-1 Brow filling pencil in Hot Chocolate. Again, not sure if I'm doing it correct/if people think my eyebrows look alright. I absolutely love this eyebrow pencil and am so sad that it's nearly running out. It looks like I need to plan a little trip to the UK just to get my hands on this baby.
Then I'll go for my eyeliner. I am always on the hunt for a new one, but couldn't find a proper one that lasted on my oily eyelids all day lately, so I decided to go back to the Rimmel Glam' Eyes Professional liquid liner. This does an amazing job at staying on my eyelids. I used this eyeliner when back when I was 16, so it's kind of a trip down memory lane trotting to the Rimmel stand in the drugstore. To finish my look off I add a few coats of mascara. Right now I am using the Dior Diorshow blackout waterproof mascara. Every now and again my mum likes to treat me to a bit more of an expensive mascara and this time it turned out to be this one. I am really liking it so far!
That's it! I don't like wearing too much makeup on a day to day basis, so this is the perfect amount of makeup for me. Please note that if I can, I would just go bare faced, because let's be honest; who want's to wear makeup when you're hot and sweaty in summer, am I right?!
the soap&glory archery is just so good, i love it way too much
