So in this post I will be sharing three of my favourite facemasks that help clear up my acne at this moment in time. Let’s start with a little story about my skin. I have talked about my skin in a few posts, so by now you probably know that I suffer from cystic acne breakouts from time to time. I probably get a new, painful and cystic pimple at least once a week, if they don’t appear more often.
In this post I shared a few of my favourite skincare products that help me clear up my skin whenever I suffer from breakouts. I find that these facemasks can also really help clear up my skin when needed.
So the facemasks that I usually use are clarifying masks. I find that these facemasks work best for whenever I have painful cystic acne, as well as small whiteheads. I would love to try a few more sheet masks myself, but don’t know where to start, as most of these masks work as a hydrating mask, instead of a purifying and/or clarifying mask. So if you have any recommendations, please let me know!
Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal mask
This is the first mask I got my hands on when I started investing in more facial masks. Because I have suffered from quite a few breakouts, and didn’t really know how to treat them in the past, I got this recommended by a girl who worked at Sephora. In the beginning it really cleared up my acne as I used it once a week. Nowadays, I use this mask once a month. I usually give myself a ‘facial’ once a month and that’s when I use this mask, so its magic doesn’t run out too soon.
This product doesn’t really help me with my cystic acne; my acne doesn’t magically disappear whenever I have one of those painful bastards on my face. But what it does do is make the pimple come to the surface of your skin after about a day, which makes it easier to pop. If you like to pop your pimples of course, if not then just leave it there until it gets out there itself.
Kiehl’s Rare Earth Pore cleansing mask
This is a fairly new mask. I got this mask for Christmas after I had put it on my Christmas wishlist. The lovely people at Kiehl’s in my hometown gave me a sample of this mask after I had purchased my cleanser. I soon got myself a nice, cystic pimple right on my cheek, so I decided to try this mask. After leaving this mask on for 10 minutes, my pimple had not really disappeared yet, but my pores actually looked smaller. The next morning my pimple was ready to pop and I was so impressed by it.
Now that I have used this mask multiple times, I can honestly say that this mask somehow, really works on my face. I use this mask once a week, usually during the weekend just to get all of the dirt and toxins of the past week out.
Aesop Parsley Seed mask
Another mask that I got myself about a year back is this Aesop Parsley Seed mask. I decided that I wanted to get myself a new mask because I felt like the Origins mask wasn’t really working anymore, after I had used it for such a long time. So I got myself this Aesop Parsley Seed mask after hearing many YouTubers rave about this product. I can honestly say that this mask is one of my favourite facemasks to draw out my impurities – that sounds disgusting, but it’s true!
The one thing I really hate about this mask is the scent. I can’t stand parsley, but it helps clear up my skin, so I try to really use this product.
I try to use this mask at least once every two months. It’s great to make your skin feel all nice and clean again. Whenever I just have one cystic pimple, I sometimes just put this mask on just that pimple. I feel like this product really can help speed up the process of clearing up my skin whenever I have painful cystic acne.

These are the BEST brands for skincare, in my opinion! I think you hit every point about them too. I really want to try them, although I don't think it's worth the money for me, just because I already have quite clear skin. Great post :)
